The Vismara V56 Mills was launched on March 12th, 2016 in Viareggio. This is a sailing yacht built by Vismara Marine S.p.A. and equipped with Millenium Monolithic sails.
Mark Mills, in partnership with Vismara, designed a custom-made sailing yacht for experienced owners.
It is a high quality blue water cruiser with tried & tested technological solutions, built using the best composite materials, able to sail with lightness, comfortable and with autonomy in the consumption of power on board.
Vismara V56 Mills is a perfect integration of innovation and classical elements, in Italian style.

Sail plan

A great sailing yacht, with such great features deserves a rig of the maximum quality, which means a carbon fibre mast, with a park avenue boom, carbon fiber rigging and rod staysail. The vang, backstay and mainsail track are all hydraulically adjustable whilst sail handling is accomplished effortlessly via two electric winches. The combination of automation and the high quality carbon fiber sandwich hull ensures a feel to the yacht of perfect harmony with the elements whilst allowing her to be sailed to her very best with only the smallest of a crews.
The Millenium Technology Centre built the sails: the partnership with Vismara has the purpose to provide sails designed around the client’s specific needs.
The Millenium Monolithic sails, with carbon unidirectional spread fibers, was tested during the Middle Sea Race. They are resistant, high-performance and light sails, ideal for a boat that aim to be the perfect sailing yacht, to navigate and to live in.
Thanks to special machinery specially constructed to spread and plot fibers, Millenium Monolithic technology allows to produce a whole uncut structure for the entire surface, with a 100% balanced structure.

Millenium presents Monolithic technology at Cantieri Navali di La Spezia

1000 666 Millenium Tech

On Wednesday 2nd March the Millenium Technology Center presented the Monolithic technology at Cantieri Navali di La Spezia. Monolithic is the only one-piece sail in the world entirely made with spread fiber technology.
Marco Holm, Davide Innocenti and Marco Savelli, from Milleniem Technology Center, attended the event, organised in partnership with Paolo Gianardi. They explained the revolutionary technology to boat Masters, showing a model of Monolithic sail.
Thanks to its long-standing experience in the sailmaking business, its exclusive technologies and its know-how, the Millenium Technology Center delivers sails for all kind of boats and is able to customise every sail and its finishing.
The Monolithic sail is built only with unidirectional spread fibers through the joining of the various layers from corner to corner of the sail and has a 100% balanced structure. The sail is built thanks to special machinery specially constructed to spread and plot fibers and with the use of ovens with ceramic and carbon components.
